Pakoštane – Benkovac – Asseria

The only TZ Ravni kotari route that links the coast with the Benkovac plateau. It is ridden one way, 25.8 km from Pakoštane to Asseria near Podgrađe, so from Škabrnja the practical move is to join it in the middle: 17.8 km by road to Kaštel Benković, 23.8 km to Asseria itself. The surface is almost entirely asphalt, with a short gravel section on the final approach to Asseria. TZ Ravni kotari rates the route medium (3/5) and allows 70 to 100 minutes of actual riding. We do not reproduce the ascent figures because the numbers in the source contradict one another. There are three rest areas along the way: the church site at Šopot, Kaštel Benković, and Asseria itself – a Liburnian and later Roman city whose walls run for almost a kilometre.
