About
half a day
Nin is about 31 kilometres and 40 minutes' drive from Škabrnja. The 9th-century church of the Holy Cross is called the smallest cathedral in the world because it was the seat of the bishop of Nin; its internal dimensions are 7.80 × 7.60 × 8.20 metres and the walls are 57 centimetres thick. Solana Nin is one of the oldest working saltworks in Europe, with over 1,500 years of tradition across 55 hectares, and the salt is still harvested by hand. The saltworks tour, the House of Salt and the saltworker experience are ticketed; check prices and times at solananin.hr and book a day ahead. Nin also has the sandy Queen's Beach with its medicinal peloid, so the trip combines easily with a swim.
