Trg dr. Franje Tuđmana is the centre of Škabrnja: the parish church, the municipal building, the post office and the memorial centre all stand on it. The bronze monument to Croatia's first president is 340 centimetres tall and shows him with his hand on his heart. It is the work of the sculptor Kuzma Kovačić and was unveiled on 22 September 2001. It was the first monument to Franjo Tuđman in Croatia; Tuđman is an honorary citizen of Škabrnja. The square is paved and hosts every larger municipal and parish event.
